The Dinobots were made long before they became a Combiner, so this seems a bit strange to me. But it is fairly cool. I wish these guys were all voyager class, like their dino size should have made them. But at least we now have all five Dinobots.
Because Grimlock came with feet and all four of the others came with hands, he has two extra hands that can be placed on the sides of the torso to add to his bulk. They are needed. He just does not look right without them. They can also be placed on the back of the feet to make Volcanicus more stable. Third Party toy makers have made several upgrade sets for Volcanicus that include proper individual weapons for the Dinobots, bigger feet and extra torso bits to make him look more solid. The main draw of those sets for me would be the feet and weapons. Like Grimlock, Volcanicus has no sword. That may be the biggest down side to this combiner.
The Power Core can be placed in the hands or feet. Power Masters also fit. Articulation and playability are pretty great with this guy. The main problem is the shoulder area. It can unlock while positioning or playing with the arms. But for a Hasbro release, with no Third Party add on parts, Volcanicus is pretty great.
